The Mountains, Wadis and Beaches of Salalah West
Head out in a 4×4 vehicle into the Jebel Qara Mountains, stopping to take in the birdlife, natural limestone formations and springs.
Continue your drive through quaint villages and sweeping landscapes, with plenty of opportunities to pause for photos. Wadi Ayun is especially captivating, its green and blue waters framed by lush vegetation. As you wind higher into the hills, passing grazing cattle and roaming camels, visit the ancient tomb of Job, the Prophet, nestled among the emerald mountains.
Turn your attention to the coastline, stopping to unwind on the white sands of Mughsail Beach, where the Indian Ocean laps gently against Oman’s shores. Take a short wander through the nearby valley, breathing in the fragrance of frankincense trees and soaking in the stunning scenery.
