Inspired by African safari lodges, The Blackbuck Lodge offers a tranquil and stylish base beside Gujarat’s Blackbuck National Park.
With striking wildlife, sweeping savannahs and strong conservation principles, it’s a refreshing alternative to India’s better-known parks—and a memorable place to stay.
Overall, we’d recommend the lodge for anyone interested in India’s unique wildlife. The location, quality, and services ensure a memorable stay without breaking the bank.
Although the park is named after the distinctive blackbuck antelope, it’s also home to Indian wolves, striped hyenas, Indian foxes, golden jackals, and an array of primarily migratory birds. Guests can experience the wildlife by taking an early morning or sunset safari tour, opting for ‘bush dinner’ in the Savannah grasslands, or sundowners by the river.
All of the experiences offer the chance to take in the park’s natural beauty, with the possibility of seeing some of the incredible local wildlife.
The lodge’s founder is a keen conservationist and has meticulously ensured the property and its guests do not disturb the environment. This means muted lighting, no loud music, and a ban on plastic on the grounds, amongst other measures.
The Rooms
All 14 cottages have the same strong lodge theme with rustic yet modern interiors, with the main difference between the four room types being their size and whether guests opt for a private plunge pool or a full-sized pool.
