Marvel at the grandeur of the Sultan Qaboos Mosque, with its imposing exterior and breathtakingly beautiful interior

Alila Jabal Akhdar
Magnificent mountain views,
Day excursions,
Infinity pool
Families,
Couples

The Alila Jebel Akhdar is not only a unique and beautiful luxury resort, but it just happens to be located in one of the most breathtaking locations in Oman that we’ve come across.
Perched right on the edge of a dramatic gorge – think Oman’s answer to the Grand Canyon – this unique resort offers views that genuinely stop you in your tracks.

The resort interior is modern, but the distinguishing feature is the way the buildings are clad with the very rocks that were excavated to build them. That the stone-clad resort blends effortlessly into the surroundings is part of its appeal; a stark, glittering exterior would look totally out of place here.
Combining a couple of nights at the Alila with a few days on Muscat’s beaches is a brilliant way to experience the contrasts Oman offers. The Alila is, however, a destination in its own right and a few days here makes a really original and peaceful stopover on return from a holiday in say India or Sri Lanka. The temperatures are high but a little cooler than Muscat, which could be preferable for some; this is a brilliant place to laze by the pool, wallow in the spa, enjoy some great food and totally switch off whilst marvelling at the infinite views and starry night skies. There is plenty for active guests too – you will love the guided mountain and village treks, which can be tailored to a range of abilities.

The Rooms
There is a range of rooms to choose from, with different views and pros and cons. We actually rate the lead-in rooms which have excellent views across the canyon, but if you’d like additional space or have a large group we’d be pleased to talk you through the options.
