Spa & wellness centre,
Wide range of water sports
Couples,
Families,
Solo
Three hotels sitting along the coastline beneath a towering mountain range comprise the Shangri-La’s Barr Al Jissah Resort, each aimed at a different kind of clientele.
With facilities to suit everyone, the resorts are just 20 minutes from Muscat’s downtown area and a 45 minute drive from the airport, offering a more secluded location with lovely stretches of beach.
Al Bandar is a great option for couples and ticks all the boxes for a deluxe beach hotel.
There is a wide range of restaurants and facilities, and the idyllic beachfront location makes for the perfect spot to while away your time relaxing on a sun lounger. Rooms here are high quality and feature all the usual amenities.
Orientated towards adults, Al Husn has a quiet stretch of beach, large infinity pool and its facilities cannot be used by guests of the other hotels, so it is totally private. It’s definitely the most exclusive of the three hotels, with butler service, two upmarket restaurants and the indulgent CHI Spa. The 180 rooms provide sea views, lovely spacious bathrooms with a large walk-in rain shower and bathtub.
The Rooms
Al Waha is dedicated to families and is the largest of the three. It comprises 262 rooms and each has their own balcony or patio with sea views or sea-facing views. They may not be overly luxurious but are comfortable and have lovely amenities. There are several swimming pools to keep the kids entertained as well as a kids’ club, Adventure Zone and Lazy River. It’s a great hotel for parents wanting their children to play in a safe environment while the adults can relax themselves.
Barr Al Jissah is great for those seeking beachfront accommodation that focuses on all kinds of travellers, from groups and families to couples, with plenty of facilities.
