After a morning exploring the town souq, enjoy an authentic lunch before spending the afternoon taking in some spectacular architecture.
Visit Bahla Fort, the oldest in the country and built in the classic Islamic style. The whimsical Jabreen Castle is another example of 17th Century design and is known as one of Oman’s most beautiful castles.
Then visit the 400-year old mountain village of Al Hamra, where you’ll almost feel as though you’ve travelled back in time at the Bait al Safah museum. Here, the local woman will give you an insight into the traditional, age-old methods of coffee, bread, oil and flour making.
