Ho Chi Minh City Highlights
Ho Chi Minh Vietnam has a lot to offer.
For a quick introduction to this frenetic Asian city, we begin at the former Presidential Palace. Today, it is preserved as a museum and includes the underground communications bunkers. These served as the headquarters for the Saigon Government during the American War.
Next, continue to the History Museum, which houses an excellent display tracing the origins of the indigenous Vietnamese. Then, take the opportunity to see a delightful performance of water puppetry in the palace grounds.
Afterwards, visit Notre Dame, an impressive Neo-Romanesque cathedral in the city centre. You will also see the ‘wedding cake’-styled Hotel de Ville and Dong Khoi Street. This street was formerly the centre of haute couture in Saigon when it was known as La Rue Catinat.
Please note, this half-day city tour can be combined with another tour and a lunch to create a full-day experience.
