Tonight catch your overnight flight to Ho Chi Minh City.
This luxury family adventure through Vietnam combines cultural discovery with plenty of downtime at some of the country’s finest hotels.
The hotels featured in this itinerary are top-notch, with excellent facilities to keep everyone occupied. They’ve not been selected simply for luxury’s sake, though. From a riverside gem in the Mekong Delta to a vast nature and beachfront resort on a beautiful beach, each is in a location that will allow the whole family to explore with ease and feel immersed in the destination.
Luxury, Relaxed Family Vietnam
As with all our holidays, this itinerary is just a starting point. We will create a bespoke package which will be completely unique for you.
Day 1
Your adventure begins
Days 2 - 4
Ho Chi Minh City
Meet your private guide on arrival and go directly to your hotel in the very heart of the bustling city. There will be plenty of time to relax and explore during your stay, which is a mixture of city discovery, dining out and relaxing by the pool. With your guide, you’ll stroll through the backstreets and markets and take in the modern contrasts of this thriving city too.
Days 5 - 6
Mekong Delta
Transfer by road with your guide to Can Tho, deep in The Mekong Delta. Staying here, you’ll get a feel for the typical way of life in the “Rice Bowl” of Southeast Asia. Your hotel is set among mangroves, perched on the banks of the Hau River, a tributary of the Mekong. The riverside location offers many opportunities to get stuck into exploring local life – from floating markets to countryside walks and sunset boat cruises.
Aside from exploring locally, there is plenty to do in the hotel, with tennis courts, a pool, a kids club, and wellness activities.
Days 7 - 10
Hoi An
Check-in at Can Tho airport (just a stone’s throw from the hotel) for a direct flight to Danang. On arrival, you’ll be whisked to your private villa on the beach at The Four Seasons Nam Hai. The villas are incredibly unique and luxurious, and the resort has incredible facilities –from teens clubs to basketball, tennis and badminton to family spa treatments, junior cooking academies,
Hoi An is a great place to explore on foot, and as it’s bustling from dawn to late at night, you can spend days lazing, swimming (or bouncing balls) around the resort and head into the ancient town in the afternoon to explore and have dinner.
Your tour introduces countryside life; either on a vintage Vespa or by bike and boat. It’s well worth trying a Vietnamese cookery experience too.
During your stay, you can also explore the countryside with a Vespa or bicycle tour, visiting traditional farms and fishing villages for an immersive glimpse into rural life.
Days 11 - 14
Phu Yen
All aboard for the train journey from Danang to Dieu Tri. You’ll travel along a section of the historic “Reunification Express” route, passing paddy fields and countryside scenes. On arrival, you’ll be transferred to a glorious beach resort on a serene peninsula. Quite a contrast to Hoi An, Phu Yen province is a beautiful place to relax. There is plenty to do with water sports, fishing villages to explore, snorkelling, and a kids club if needed.
Day 15
Fly home
Transfer to Ho Chi Minh City airport for your flight back home.
An Epic Adventure Across Southeast Asia
There were moments while I was out and about where I thought that everyone should experience this kind of mindful travel that Experience Travel organises, as it's not backpacking where you tick off the standard party hotspots, and it's not the typical cruise for tourists to visit the standard sightseeing destinations, but an experience where I really felt I got to know the countries, meet great people and do fun stuff that most people miss.

Important FAQs about Vietnam
With Experience Travel Group, Vietnam isn’t just another tick-box holiday. We take you beyond the usual sights – yes, you’ll see Halong Bay and the Cu Chi Tunnels if you want to, but we’ll also introduce you to the quiet corners that most travellers miss. Think cycling through the backstreets of Hue, cooking lunch with a local family in Hoi An, or spending a night on a peaceful river island that barely anyone’s heard of.
We design every trip with care – using handpicked hotels, the best local guides, and routes that cut out the tourist conveyor belt. Our holidays are built for travellers who want something richer than a generic tailor-made holiday – more character, more flavour, more stories to tell when you get home.
If you want a trip where Vietnam feels personal, rather than packaged, that’s exactly what we do.
Vietnam’s weather can be a bit of a puzzle. With its long, thin shape and mix of beaches, mountains, and cities, each region dances to its own climate tune. The North, Central, and South all have distinct weather patterns – and that’s before you factor in the cooler highlands or the breezy coastlines.
Generally, November to April is the sweet spot when much of the country is dry and pleasantly warm. That said, Vietnam is almost a year-round destination, with good weather cropping up somewhere no matter the month. Whether you want winter sunshine, summer beaches, or a cultural escape with a side of adventure, Vietnam has a season for you.
Every ETG holiday to Vietnam is carefully designed to be seamless, immersive, and stress-free. Your journey typically includes international flights (if requested), guide throughout and accommodation in hand-picked, characterful hotels.
You’ll enjoy incredible, immersive experiences unique to you, all planned by dedicated Vietnam specialists, with the added reassurance of 24/7 in-country support from our local team.
