It is home to the incredible wildlife which inspired Kipling’s ‘The Jungle Book’, spiritual Maheshwar and the evocative splendour of places such as Bhopal, Gwalior and Khajuraho. Indeed, Madhya Pradesh can rival neighbouring Rajasthan for palaces and forts, but with far fewer visitors.
