Depart from your home country on your flight to Luang Prabang.
Explore the rich contrasts of Laos and Cambodia on this thoughtfully paced two-week journey.
Begin in Luang Prabang, where temple roofs and quiet rituals offer a window into a deeply rooted way of life. Then, head south, where the Mekong widens, and life drifts between its scattered islands, far removed from the rush of the modern world. Finally, continue to Cambodia, where intricate temples and lesser-known corners reveal a country shaped by both grandeur and resilience.
Contrasts of Laos and Cambodia
As with all our holidays, this itinerary is just a starting point. We will create a bespoke package which will be completely unique for you.
Day 1
Your adventure begins
Days 2 - 5
Luang Prabang
Upon arrival, you will be met by your local guide and transferred to your hotel for a three-night stay.
During your stay, with your private guide, you’ll get an insider’s perspective of the sleepy city. Discover the temples, learn more about the country’s diverse ethnic traditions and experience one of the most traditional and ancient Laotian rituals – a Baci Ceremony.
Experience the life of a Lao farmer through a fascinating visit to the Living Lands Organic Farm and get involved in ploughing, planting and harvesting the rice crops.
Days 6 - 7
Champasak
Your guide and driver will transfer you to Luang Prabang airport for the short flight to Pakse, the principal hub for Southern Laos. Travel by road to Champasak, where you check into your Mekong riverside accommodation.
Explore the historical town of Champasak, the surrounding villages and picturesque Don Daeng Island. Journey along the Mekong River, stopping at both ancient and modern temples and meeting villagers along the way as they make rice baskets and fish traps from bamboo.
You will then cross the river on a traditional-style motorised boat, where you’ll share a home-cooked lunch with a local family. Later, explore the island by cycling along rice fields before making your way back to Champasak town, where your last stop will be the Sisumang Buddha Angkorian temple.
Days 8 - 11
Transfer to Cambodia
Depart Pakse on the 50-minute flight to Cambodia. On arrival, meet your local guide and transfer to a lovely hotel for a four-night stay.
Your guide will take you away from the crowds to some of Angkor’s more remote temples such as atmospheric, Beng Mealea, an ancient temple shrouded in jungle. You’ll of course, also visit the more well-known temples such as beautiful Angkor Wat, the largest religious building ever contructed.
There is time to discover Kampong Phluk Village, situated on the floodplain of the Tonle Sap Lake. Houses appear to float when water levels are high, but in the dry season when the stilts are exposed, the village soars six metres above the ground.
Days 12 - 13
Farmhouse Resort & Spa
Transfer to the countryside near Phnom Penh. Here you’ll stay at the wonderful Farmhouse – a sustainable boutique resort with an organic farm within the grounds.
It offers a relaxing place to stay and an experience where you can learn, cook, eat and explore whilst supporting the local community.
Day 14
Fly home
You will be transferred to Phnom Penh today for your flight back home. If time permits, then add in some time to explore the city or visit the beaches along Cambodia’s southern coast.
Extremely well organised Cambodia holiday
We flew to Siem Reap. Lucky enough to have Visal Phok there who was a superb tour guide. So many varied experiences there including Angkor Wat and sunrise on Tonle Sap Lake. Cardomom mountains - what a great place to chill but also to experience great value local trips such as sunset and a brilliant trip to the local village.

What’s included:
With ETG, what’s included is shaped around ease. We take care of the practical details that can distract from the experience itself, so you’re free to relax into the journey and enjoy it as it unfolds.
Here’s what comes as standard in all of our holidays:
Pricing:
Each journey is shaped around you, so costs vary depending on season, flight choices, accommodation and how much is built in.
As a guide, most of our two-week trips fall between £5,000 and £10,000 per person.
Some fall below that, particularly for families or travel outside peak periods. Others go beyond it when the brief includes business-class flights, longer stays, or more ambitious hotel choices.
We discuss budget early, so everything is clear from the start.

Important FAQs about Cambodia
Cambodia is far more than the iconic Angkor temples. Travelling with ETG means exploring the country in a way that feels personal, thoughtful, and enriching.
We’ll show you life beyond the ruins: serene riverside towns, thriving local markets, and countryside where time slows down. Our itineraries are designed for a deeper connection, whether that’s dining with local families, gliding along the Tonle Sap in a traditional boat, or unwinding at hand-picked boutique stays. With expert guides and 24/7 in-country support, we make sure you see Cambodia in a way that’s inspiring, seamless, and uniquely yours.
Cambodia’s dry season runs from November to April, when clear skies and warm, sunny days make temple visits and countryside explorations most enjoyable. For fewer crowds, the shoulder months of May and October can be ideal, offering greener landscapes and quieter moments. The wet season (June to September) brings short, refreshing showers and vibrant scenery, and it’s a great time for photographers or those seeking a more tranquil experience.
Every ETG holiday to Cambodia is designed to feel seamless, immersive and stress-free. We’ll arrange international flights (if you’d like us to), your drivers and guides, and stays in characterful hotels we know and trust.
You’ll experience Cambodia in a way that’s completely bespoke to you – from quiet moments to big adventures – all planned by our specialists. And while you’re away, our local team is on hand 24/7, so you’ll always feel well looked after.
