The Inn Patan is just a stone's throw from the historic Patan Durbar Square but feels tucked away from the hustle and bustle of the city.
As well as being wonderfully located in Kathmandu, this heritage hotel is cosy and characterful. Originally a traditional Newari brick-and-timber house, the boutique hotel still has a homely feel and design like beautiful, beamed ceilings and a gorgeous communal courtyard.
It’s the perfect place to come 'home' to after a busy day exploring: decompress by sipping a cup of ginger tea in the central courtyard or slipping off to your room to sink into your soft bed for a snooze before dining on Newari cuisine in one of the candle-lit alcoves.
There are just ten rooms here. All come with original features, like traditional woodwork, lattice windows and brass basins, but each has its own little dash of character. We’ll book you into a suite if you'd like to have your own balcony.
All in all, The Inn Patan is one of our favourite places to stay in Kathmandu. If you like the sound of its atmosphere and design and would appreciate a pocket of calm in the city while still being close to the action - you’ll love it, too. It’s great for couples, solo travellers, and even families with older children who’d like to base themselves at an excellent heritage hotel.
