It may be a simple property, but it is filled with traditional Bhutanese character and is right in the heart of things.
Unique touches include painted motifs in the rooms and on the hotel’s exterior, and this large hotel offers attentive and genuine service from its team. We highly recommend the Indian restaurant that serves up delicious dishes.
Hotel Druk provides a straightforward, centrally located base with everything you need within walking distance. For urban explorers or those passing through between valleys, it’s an easy and reliable choice.
The Bhutanese style rooms come in 3 different colour palettes, drawn from the elements. The grey rooms were our favourite but can’t be guaranteed. Besides the colour scheme, all rooms are similar with rustic interiors and a sense of warmth while facilities and amenities are modern. The dark marble bathrooms are lovely and fitted with bathtubs.
If you prefer to retreat to a peaceful and spacious oasis at the end of a day, Druk Hotel is probably not for you as it can get a bit noisy. However, it is a great base from which to explore the delights of the city.
A few of our favourite routes – hand-picked by the team and ripe for tweaking.
Think of them as conversation starters. Curiosity sparkers. Not fixed plans – just ideas for what your holiday could look like, shaped by years of local know-how and the kind of immersive experiences that live long in the memory.
