Ten-acre estate,
Views of the Himalayas

Families
It’s a short journey on foot to reach Itmenaan Lodge from the road, but once you’ve arrived, you’ll be mesmerised.
This is unique and remote cottage-style accommodation on a ten-acre estate teeming with oak and pine forests. The views of the Himalayas and Nanda Devi must be seen to be believed. Itmenaan Lodge is a place to come to unwind and embark on a spiritual journey, or to trek, cycle and enjoy the wildlife.
Almora, the main town, is a 1.5-hour drive away, and Binsar, Mukteshwar, and Corbett National Park are also well-connected. The area is renowned for fantastic cycling, trekking, and excellent opportunities to observe and participate in rural Kumaoni life. Meals at the lodge, predominantly North Indian cuisine, can be served at whatever times suit you, and are prepared using locally-sourced produce.
Itmenaan Lodge is ideal for travellers wanting to slow down and spend time in the quieter landscapes of Uttarakhand’s Kumaon Himalayas. Surrounded by forests, farmland and traditional villages, it offers an immersive rural experience with a strong connection to local life and the natural environment.
The Rooms
The Kumaoni stone house is 100 years old, consisting of three bedrooms, all with ensuite bathrooms. A generously sized two-storey stone cottage stands independently close by, with a large living room downstairs and one bedroom upstairs. The feel of Itmenaan Lodge is rustic, authentic, and traditional. The acreage is dotted with pleasant areas for sitting, relaxing, and dining. Come here for a unique forest experience or a spiritual retreat close to beautiful Almora.
