Komaneka at Rasa Sayang
Oasis of a pool,
Central Ubud location
Solo

Families
This is a pretty boutique hotel in the very heart of Ubud. It’s a rare find in a town where most luxury options sit on the outskirts.
After opening in 2011, Komaneka Rasa Sayang instantly became one of the most upmarket hotels in cultural Ubud. With limited space to play within the centre of the popular cultural town, most deluxe hotels are located further out.
Here, you have Ubud’s art galleries, markets, restaurants and temples literally on your doorstep but a tranquil oasis to retreat to when it all gets too much. Best of both worlds!
The facilities and the pool, in particular, are quite a surprise as the resort looks too small to accommodate them from the front. The swimming pool itself is quite extraordinary with a dramatic drop below it down to the river and a backdrop of the forest.
Breakfast is served a la carte at a casual restaurant overlooking the pool.
Given the quality of the rooms, facilities and the location, this hotel is excellent value. We’d say the only drawack is the lack of a view from the rooms. However, this has been more than made up for with the spacious balconies and is inevitable if you wish to be in the centre of Ubud.
If you prefer scenic views in a less busy location, then the sister resort Komaneka at Bisma on the outskirts of Ubud has rooms styled in the same way with a more rural setting.
The Rooms
The rooms here are generous in size with stylish interiors, and luxury touches like freestanding bathtubs, balconies with oversized day beds and flat-screen TV’s.
For families, there’s a gorgeous Two-Bedroom Rooftop Garden Villa with plenty of space.
