Tandjung Sari
Original “boutique hotel”,
Tropical oasis
Solo,
Couples,
Families
Set on Sanur’s sands, Tandjung Sari is regarded as Asia’s original “boutique hotel”: intimate, characterful and properly rooted in place.
This tropical retreat holds over 50 years of history and a sense of soul that’s been here since 1967.
Sanur beach is blissfully free from the crowds and party energy of Seminyak or Kuta and its peaceful, laid-back vibe remains intact. The hotel has grown a little over the years, yet retains the serene atmosphere and traditional style that founder Wija Wawo-Runtu and his wife Judith established from the very start.
Conveniently close to Bali’s airport, it makes an ideal first or last night on the ‘Island of the Gods’, and we recommend a few nights to settle in. Tandjung Sari remains one of the island’s most beautiful beach hotels.
Tandjung Sari suits travellers who want to experience the essence of Bali.
Feel immersed in the island’s spirit: dine by the sea in the beachfront restaurant or beneath the airy wantilan pavilion surrounded by Indonesian antiques, sip cocktails at the beach bar under the shade of ancient camplung trees, or cool off in the saltwater pool.
With Sanur’s calm beach just steps away, days unfold slowly and easily here, a serene setting to reset after a day of adventure and exploration.
The Rooms
With around 30 thatched bungalows (stand-alone villas) tucked into the gardens, each reflecting quintessential Balinese architecture with high thatched roofs, antique furnishings, batik floor tiles and carved wooden details.
Some sit closer to the beach with sea views, while others are hidden among the tropical greenery. Gorgeous interiors, open terraces and large bathrooms create an easy indoor-outdoor feel.
There are Family Bungalows with connecting rooms and a private garden.
