A calm, beachfront oasis in the heart of buzzy Seminyak, where Balinese tradition meets understated luxury.
The Legian is one of the few traditionally styled luxury hotels in South Bali, a welcome contrast to the sleek modern villas that fill the area. It blends classic Balinese design with modern comfort and genuinely superb service.
By day it’s all lush gardens and sea breezes; by night, some of Bali’s best restaurants and bars are just minutes away.
Despite its size, service here keeps a lovely personal touch, and the food is excellent throughout. The peaceful gardens, inviting pool, relaxed communal spaces and well-kept stretch of beach make it feel a world away from the bustle outside.
It’s only around 30 minutes from the airport, which makes it a brilliant choice for a first or last night in Bali. It’s also ideal for a beach stay that’s quiet during the day but has plenty going on in the evenings.
It’s not as sleek or modern as some of its neighbours, but that traditional character is exactly its charm.
All in all, this is a classic, beautifully run beach hotel in the best part of South Bali.
The Rooms
Every room is a suite, with separate living and sleeping areas and large, well-equipped bathrooms.
The Studio Suites are a great-value way in, with the same style and facilities as the rest of the hotel. The One-Bedroom Deluxe Suites are larger, with more distinct living and sleeping spaces.
For something extra special, the family and honeymoon suites at the top end are fantastic.
