Think of it more as referring to the welcoming and relaxed atmosphere, as the resort comprises of 31 rooms, a restaurant, games, and a swimming pool. Small paths and wooden bridges over a large fishpond lead guests around the property and are adorned by lush greenery, creating a natural oasis far away from the bustle of the city. The restaurant is open all day and serves delicious Vietnamese dishes, as well as some Western options for breakfast. Next door is a local Cao Dai temple, where all religions are welcome and services are performed at 6am and 12 noon. We’d recommend visiting for a service if possible, or just for a walk around to see the colourful decorations and unique outer wall murals.
All of the bungalow-type rooms at Vam Xang are made from natural materials and positioned around the pond and gardens, which adds to the feeling of being in nature. Although ‘rustic’ in appearance, the rooms all have WiFi, aircon, comfortable beds and hot water, albeit from the outdoor bathrooms. All kinds of travellers are catered for with single, double, triple, and family rooms available. Although small, the swimming pool adds to the informal atmosphere of the resort with guests congregating there for a relaxing dip or a sunbathe throughout the day.
