Day 1

Your adventure begins

It’s time to step away from your everyday, and catch your flight to Siem Reap, Cambodia.

Days 2 - 5

Siem Reap

Your local guide and driver will welcome you to Cambodia and whisk you to your elegant hotel, made up of luxury villas set among lush gardens and rice paddies, your home for four nights.

Your Siem Reap itinerary balances flexibility with depth. Whether you wish to delve deep into Angkor’s temples or spread shorter visits across a few days, we adjust to your interests and energy, so you never feel “templed out”. Our highlights include Angkor Wat, atmospheric Ta Prohm, Angkor Thom, and intricately carved Banteay Srei.

There’s more magic beyond the temples, too. Rise early for a private boat journey across Tonle Sap Lake, watching floating villages come to life as the sun lifts over the water. Enjoy an evening at the Phare Circus, where Cambodian history and contemporary life are brought to the stage through powerful storytelling, music and acrobatics. Cycle or quad bike through rice paddies, walk with elephants in a forest sanctuary, or simply try Khmer cuisine and appreciate the serene atmopshere of your hotel.

Days 6 - 8

Hoi An

Next, fly from Siem Reap to Da Nang and head to Hoi An. You’ll stay at a peaceful hideaway set along the river, with understated luxury and a gentle focus on wellbeing. You’ve free rein to be as up- and low-tempo as you like. Explore Hoi An Ancient Town, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, which is particularly atmospheric in the early mornings, when lantern-lined streets are quiet and local life unfolds at an unhurried pace. Wander through historic shopfronts, visit temples and markets, and sample the region’s distinctive cuisine.

You can also explore the surrounding countryside, either by Vespa or bicycle, passing through farming communities and fishing villages for a closer look at rural life.

Back at base, gently unwind; whether that’s on the beach, by the river or through your retreat’s wellness treatments.

Days 9 - 12

Bai San Ho

After breakfast, step aboard a scenic coastal train and travel in comfort along one of Vietnam’s most beautiful stretches of shoreline. Step off at Dieu Tri and continue by road to Zannier Bai San Ho, your secluded beach retreat for the next four nights.

Set on a tranquil peninsula south of Quy Nhon, this is where you truly exhale. Spend days barefoot on the beach, swimming in calm waters, snorkelling vibrant reefs, or unwinding in the spa. For more movement, there’s tennis, kayaking, and guided walks through nearby villages, encounters that reveal the rhythms of coastal Vietnamese life.

With its rustic but refined design and wide-open landscapes, Zannier Bai San Ho is our top choice for rest, reflection and reconnecting with nature.

Days 13 - 15

Mai Chau

Today, you’ll fly north to Hanoi, then continue by road into the hills of Mai Chau, where Avana Retreat is tucked into a dramatic landscape of mountains, valleys and rice terraces.

Your final days unfold at an unhurried pace, in sync with nature. Walk through hill-tribe villages and countryside trails, kayak across Hoa Binh Lake’s glassy waters, or simply slot into the retreat’s rhythms: restorative yoga at dawn, treatments in the spa, long meals overlooking the mountains, sundowners in the glorious pool.

This is a natural end to a journey that has moved at a slow pace, connected you to the countries, and left space to simply be.

Day 16

Fly home

Today, it’s sadly time to wave goodbye. Your driver will drop you off at the airport for your flight home from Hanoi.

(Or, if you’d like to stay a little longer, we’d be happy to extend your holiday.)

Important FAQs about Cambodia & Vietnam

There’s so much more to Cambodia than the awe-inspiring Angkor temples, incredible though they are, and we do Vietnam differently than most as it’s all-too-often reduced to tickbox-travel. Travelling with ETG means exploring the countries in a way that feels personal, thoughtful, and enriching.

We’ll show you life beyond the tourist hotspots: serene riverside towns, thriving local markets, and countryside where time slows down. Our itineraries are designed for a deeper connection, whether that’s dining with local families, gliding along rivers in traditional boats, or unwinding at hand-picked boutique stays.

With expert guides and 24/7 in-country support, we make sure you see Asia in a way that’s inspiring, seamless, and uniquely yours.

Cambodia’s dry season runs from November to April, when clear skies and warm, sunny days make temple visits and countryside explorations most enjoyable.

Vietnam’s weather can be a bit of a puzzle. With its long, thin shape and mix of beaches, mountains, and cities, each region dances to its own climate tune. The North, Central, and South all have distinct weather patterns – and that’s before you factor in the cooler highlands or the breezy coastlines. Generally, November to April is the sweet spot when much of the country is dry and pleasantly warm.

Every ETG holiday is designed to feel considered, immersive and stress free. We’ll arrange international flights (if you’d like us to), your drivers and guides, and stays in characterful hotels we know and trust.

You’ll experience Cambodia and Vietnam in a way that’s completely bespoke to you – from quiet moments to big adventures – all planned by our specialists. And while you’re away, our local team is on hand 24/7, so you’ll always feel well looked after.
