Luxury Bali
A 14-day tour of Bali's beautiful culture, scenery and beaches, staying in some of the most luxurious hotels in Asia.
Amankila is nestled in the foothills of Bali’s majestic Mount Agung, overlooking the crystal clear waters of the Lombok Strait in rural East Bali.
The resort has been carefully designed with architecture befitting the outstanding setting. An exceptional feature of the resort is the tier of infinity pools surrounded by oversized days beds with thatched roofs known as “Bales”. As well as being an incredible place to relax and admire the view, it has been widely photographed and used as an image in magazines and books around the world to epitomize the dream idyll of tropical luxury.
A short buggy ride down the hillside past sweeping views of a valley of paddy fields takes you to the Amankila “Beach Club” set at the shore of the ocean. The club has a long lap pool, sun loungers and a breezy outdoor restaurant in a dramatic rainforest-like setting beneath a canopy of coconut and frangipani trees.
The 34 stilted, free-standing suites use clever design features to optimize the view of the surrounding lush vegetation and the natural light. The décor is classic and amenities are excellent, the room itself has 3 sections and an outdoor area, all of which can be open or closed with the use of sliding wooden doors. All amenities and features of the room have been carefully thought through for the best user convenience. At night you fall asleep to the sounds of the waves crashing on the shores and the call of geckos.
As with all Aman resorts the service at Amankila is exceptional yet unobtrusive and the friendly staff, who vastly outnumber guests, are ever on hand. Offering the luxury level you might expect from an Aman resort, Amankila provides a fantastic gateway into the heart of Balinese culture.
