Borneo Rainforest Lodge, Danum Valley Conservation Area
Borneo, Borneo (Sabah)

Info : Borneo Rainforest Lodge

Located within the Danum Valley Conservation Area, the Borneo Rainforest Lodge is perfectly located for spotting wild orangutan, silver leaf monkeys, gibbons, and even newly discovered species such as the spectacled flower pecker.

The lodge offers by far the most comfortable accommodation in the jungle, with 31 well-lit wooden chalets located along the Danum River. The airy, polished chalets come with en-suite bathrooms, some with their own open air bath tub – a unique experience seeing as you are in the middle of a lowland dipterocarp rainforest! Whilst there is no air conditioning here all rooms do have fans.

The lodge offers great dining despite the remote location, as well as a variety of excursions like jungle walks, bird watching, and safari drives guided by resident nature experts. There is also a 30m high canopy walkways, allowing you the opportunity to experience life in the treetops for yourself.

Eco/Adventure - This category covers gorgeous lodges in the jungle, comfortable safari camps and dreamy, but simple, beach cabanas. These places defy conventional categorisation: what is communing with nature to one person may be terrifying bugs to another! Many of these places are very comfortable and the service generally of a very high level - but please read the website review carefully and/or talk to us and be sure to have understood what you are letting yourselves in for!

Customer Feedback
ETG's Matt was always accessible (even though we are based in Hong Kong) and efficient in replying. Will be happy to recommend and use him again! Our guide Bryant in Abai was a real gem. He was very polite, incredibly well spoken, informative, intelligent and gentle. He foresaw our needs, such as ordering chips for the children's lunch, and went out of his way to make things comfortable for us. He was a pleasure to spend time with.
