Battambang is one of the country's more off-the-beaten-track locations but its rural charm, sleepy feel and abundance of French colonial buildings make it a great addition to more in-depth tour to Cambodia.
A great way to see some of this sleepy market town is to take a boat trip on the Sangker river in the evening.
