Just a few kilometres away from the town, this tropical haven still gives you the feel of hiding out deep in the forest.
Kabili-Sepilok Forest is renowned for its wonderful orchids, enormous ancient trees, and of course, the orangutan community of northern Borneo. Make sure you catch the Sun Bear Sanctuary as well as the orangutan sanctuary, they are both nearby. Here you can enjoy birding, jungle trekking, or a whole range of other activities. Enjoy a cruise along the Kinabatangan River through Sukau or to Turtle Island. Many travellers stop here for a few days of getting close with nature before embarking on a diving trip in Lankayan.
It’s not a five-star facility with all the extra bits and pieces, but it is more than enough for a pleasant and comfortable sojourn in this beautiful part of Borneo.
All rooms are very large with elegant furnishings, lavish en-suite bathroom facilities, air conditioning, and private balconies. You can choose from a double or a twin room, and extra beds can be provided to accommodate small groups or families.
