Mahua Kothi comprises all aspects expected from a Taj Group property - top-notch service, unique mud cottages, delicious food and exciting safaris with specialist local naturalists through Bandhavgarh National Park.
In the surrounding grasslands, you’ll regularly spot monkeys and a variety of birdlife. Between safaris, enjoy a dip in the pool shaded by Mahua trees, head out on a guided walk with the naturalists and sip on one of their unique cocktails as the sunsets. You can discuss with the chef throughout your stay what kind of food you would like and it will be personalised to your taste. Enjoy lunches and dinners under the shade of the trees or under the starry skies, and in the evenings live spit roasts and traditional thali dinners are put on.
12 luxury mud cottages or ‘Kutiyas’ are scattered around the 45-acre property, made up of terracotta roofs, wooden shutters and mud walls & floors. Blending with the surrounding natural environment, they have their own private courtyards with seating in the shade. Step inside and you’ll find beautiful decor, pops of colour and textiles. With comfortable furnishings, bathtubs and sitting areas, they’re lovely rooms to retreat to after a day out on safari.
If you’re seeking a unique and intimate property providing top quality service, Mahua Kothi is a great option.
Deluxe - This is our first really 'upmarket' category. It might be a beautiful tiny hotel with very limited facilities or a 5* resort hotel with all the trimmings; but any hotel in this category will be a well-run establishment with very comfortable rooms, a strong service ethos and excellent food.
