RAAS Rajmahal Palace
Royal heritage,
Art deco glamour
Couples
Families
Once the private home of Jaipur’s royal family, this pink palace is pure glamour, with a guestbook to match.
Rajmahal Palace dates back to 1729 and has hosted everyone from Queen Elizabeth II to Jackie Kennedy. Today it’s one of the most spectacular places to stay in the Pink City, a real treat for anyone happy to splash out.
No expense was spared in restoring this palace, and the result is gloriously eclectic.
There are 43 different hand-crafted wallpapers, soaring ceilings and lavish furnishings throughout, with family heirlooms sitting happily alongside contemporary pieces. Simply wandering the interiors and landscaped grounds is a pleasure in itself.
It’s right in the heart of Jaipur, so the City Palace, Hawa Mahal and the bustling bazaars are all within easy reach. Back at the palace, you can lounge by the pool, sip a drink in the Polo Lounge, unwind in the spa and dress up for dinner at one of the elegant restaurants.
The opulence won’t be for everyone, but for a dose of royal glamour, there’s nowhere quite like it. All in all, this is one of the finest places in Jaipur to rest your royal head.
The Rooms
There are 15 rooms and suites, including two Royal Apartments, and each one is individually designed.
Many of the suites are named after famous former guests, so you might find yourself sleeping in the Queen Elizabeth or Jackie Kennedy suite.
For the ultimate stay, the Maharani’s apartment has two bedrooms, a private entrance hall, a dining room with a fireplace and a bathroom fit for royalty.
