Ramathra Fort
Highlights
Remote hilltop setting,
Fort heritage,
Authentic village interaction
Best for
Couples,
Families,
Nature Lovers

Nestled on a quiet hilltop between Agra and Ranthambore National Park, Ramathra Fort is a private property that has been lovingly converted into a luxury boutique hotel.
The owner and his family are direct descendants of the founder, Thakur Bhoj Pal. Today, Ramathra Fort is a unique rural boutique experience with splendid surroundings: the beautiful lake, and the village life adjacent to the fort.
It is a bit of an adventure to reach, as the surrounding roads are fairly rough making the journey quite difficult. If you can survive that the very inaccessibility of Ramathra Fort makes it an extraordinary and secluded place for couples and families, far off the beaten track.

From the top of the hills, the views across the plains are striking, and the best place to relax and take it all in is from a hot tub located on top of one of the old fort turrets.
The fort itself is the attraction in the area, and there isn’t much in the way of sightseeing nearby, although jeep safaris can be arranged and the surrounding countryside is perfect for exploring. The food is delicious and locally sourced. You can also interact with locals and observe rural activities in a way that isn’t contrived or touristy.

The Rooms
On the grounds, you’ll find luxury tents, rooms, and suites. The suites, in particular, are highly recommended, each with its private terrace and outdoor bathtub. Alternatively, the luxury tents are spacious and surrounded by meticulously maintained green gardens, each with its bathhouse and private porch.

What You’ll Find:
- Hilltop fort with suites and luxury tents set in landscaped gardens
- Private terraces, outdoor tubs and hot tub turret with panoramic views
- Jeep safaris, birdwatching, countryside walks and local village visits
Why You'll Love It:
- Unplug and unwind in one of Rajasthan’s most peaceful rural retreats
- Take in spectacular views from the fort’s ancient turrets or your private terrace
- Sleep in a luxury tent or historic suite within centuries-old walls
