Step back in time at Ranvas Nagaur, a stunning property within the walls of an impressive 13th Century fort above the town of Nagaur.
A unique stay awaits you in this private garden palace decorated with fresco paintings along its halls, beautiful archways, temples, geometric gardens and history surrounding you. With bustling streets just outside its walls, the fort serves as an oasis of tranquillity in which guests can relax around the pool or on the roof terrace.
If you are looking for truly unique accommodation that is not just a place to rest your head, but a real experience, Ranvas is for you.
The property sits between Jodhpur and Bikaner on the edge of Rajasthan’s Thar Desert. We suggest taking the attentive staff up on their offer of a complimentary personal tour of the palace to begin your stay with a great insight into the ongoing restoration and history of the property and region. You may even want to enjoy a one hour walk around the ramparts for a bird’s eye view of the town, too.
Local chefs serve up classic Rajasthani dishes in the two restaurants, along with European food. Alternatively, you can dine in the comfort of your room on your terrace. Head to the large pool area for where drinks and sun loungers await.
The Rooms
Ten stone Havelis, each with either two or three bedrooms, provide 33 rooms in total. Initially built for a queen and her servants, they have now been restored in keeping with their origins. Stylish and simple with white walls, stone floors and ceilings, they are dotted with antique artefacts and colourful elements like silk cushions.
All rooms share a large courtyard with daybeds and swings, and while there may be no TV’s, there is Wi-Fi available in the main courtyard.
