Adventure in Bhutan
This holiday includes less road travel, more trekking, and a little adventure — ideal for intrepid couples and families.
Bhutan is practically crisscrossed with prayer flags and they’re usually somewhere in the frame on any photo taken on a holiday here. Join your guide for a stroll around the local market where you can purchase a set for yourself, then when the moment arrives during your trip you have the chance to add your own set. Your guide will teach you more about the meaning and symbolism of the colours and emblems on each flag. In simple terms, each colour on the string of flags represents and different element and it is believed that when these flags catch the wind, a blessing is activated. The higher you hang the flags the better chance there is of your blessing catching the wind, so it is rewarding to hang them when you reach the highest point of any hike or walk you take.
