Belmond La Residence D'Angkor is a lovely luxury resort in the centre of Siem Reap within easy reach of the Temples of Angkor. Each of the rooms and suites is exquisitely decorated using traditional hardwoods and natural textiles. Light and airy, with floor-to-ceiling windows, they exude peace and tranquillity and each has a terrace overlooking the pool, river or lush tropical gardens.
In the centre of the resort, the swimming pool is flanked by tropical trees and sun loungers, providing a welcome escape from the heat. The hotel is set within a large walled garden and was designed with the assistance of the Artisans d'Angkor, a school of artists from around Cambodia.
Spice Circle is an interactive Khmer hawker-style restaurant and the indoor/outdoor "Martini Lounge", with its high roof and plentiful ceiling fans serves a variety of cocktails, drinks and snacks. Other useful facilities include a fitness centre, bikes for exploring the area and the delightful Kong Kea.
