Amandari, Ubud

Located in a tiny village on the outskirts of arty Ubud is the exquisite Amandari. This luxury resort perfectly complements and benefits from its beautiful setting atop a ridge over the Ayung River Gorge and you are assured of the trademark Aman service whilst you are in residence.  

The design and atmosphere of the resort are in keeping with the traditional Balinese village in which it is located. Occasionally you will see local villagers making a pilgrimage along the sacred path that runs through the resort, on their way to a pool of holy water in the verdant valley below.

Thirty free-standing, thatched suites make up the Amandari rooms, with traditional materials used throughout including coconut, wood and teak. There are ‘village’, ‘valley’ or ‘pool’ suite categories to choose from but all suites have a garden courtyard, living areas and floor to ceiling glass doors, offering almost 180-degree views of the lush surroundings.  The ‘pool’ suites enjoy their own private plunge pool.

The Asmara and Ayung Suites are duplexes with large private swimming pools and views of the rice terraces and valley below. For families or small groups the Amandari Suite can be taken as a two-bedroom villa with a separate living room pavilion and its own pool, whilst for those after the ultimate in luxurious privacy the standalone, three-bedroom Amandari Villa is nestled a short drive away from the resort in the rice terraces.

The open-air restaurant and bar overlook both the swimming pool and the breathtaking views of the valley and serve a variety of western and local dishes. There is also a library, boutique shop, spa, and gym and tennis courts.
