Exploring the Valleys of Kathmandu & Bhutan
Combine the cultural allure of Nepal with the magic of Bhutan on this incredible journey through the Himalayan valleys.
This is one of the best short hikes around Kathmandu. The 10km hike follows age-old village trails that see hardly any tourists: passing through thick forest, flattened farmlands, lush green paddy fields, and ridgelines - plus, views of the mighty Himalayas, en route.
The 'community' aspect of this hike is that you'll have the chance to encounter distinct cultures. You'll walk through two different small settlements of Tamang indigenous people (their dialect and culture are very different from what we see in the people living in the urban areas).
This invigorating and immersive experience includes a lovely local lunch at a female-run community homestay in Panauti village, primed for maximum memory making.
The route is accessible all year-round and is an easy-moderate hike.
You can include this experience as part of an Experience Travel Group holiday designed exclusively for you.
