Meet Our Experts

“For an unforgettable food experience, visit Nang Loeng Market in Bangkok. It’s one of the city’s oldest markets, packed with family-run stalls serving incredible traditional dishes – and it’s far quieter than the more famous spots.”

The Best Times to Go on a Holiday in Thailand

Thailand is a year-round destination, but your off-the-beaten-track route might be best timed around regional weather patterns. For northern Thailand’s countryside and forests, the cool dry season (November to February) is ideal. For quieter southern beaches and rural experiences, December to April offers great weather, though we can also plan around the lush green season for those who enjoy fewer crowds and misty mornings.

We’ll guide you on the best timing based on your route, preferences and priorities.

The Finest Hidden Hotels in Thailand

Whether it’s a homestay in the forested north, a riverside lodge near a forgotten temple, or a hideaway beach resort where the road literally ends, we handpick unique places that reflect Thailand’s quieter beauty, away from the crowds.

With ETG, we have visited extraordinary places

... stayed in wondrous hotels, met fascinating everyday people, listened to varied opinions, and learned much about places far away. I couldn't do that on my own.

The Best Experiences in Thailand

Expect the unexpected. You might explore candle-lit forest temples at dusk, kayak through mangrove-fringed estuaries, or learn herbal cooking techniques in a remote mountain village. Watch elephants behave naturally in ethical sanctuaries, take the train through Thailand’s rural heart, or relax on secret islands with just a few bungalows and a jungle backdrop. You won’t miss Thailand’s magic. You’ll just find it in the places others don’t go.

Only if you want to. We can include famous landmarks with a twist, or skip them entirely in favour of something different.

Not at all. We use charming, often locally owned properties with character and comfort, even in the most remote locations.
