The Best Times to Go on a Holiday in Vietnam
Working out the best time to visit Vietnam can be a little tricky. It’s a long, slim country with dramatically varied weather from top to bottom. But the good news? There’s almost always somewhere with great conditions.
November to April is the most consistently dry and settled season across the country. It’s ideal for cultural travel, sunshine, and beach time in the south. In the north, expect clear skies and cooler air, especially in the mountains.
May to August brings hot, sunny weather to the central coast, making places like Hoi An and Nha Trang perfect for a summer beach break. Further north and south, rains are more common but often come in short, sharp bursts, with plenty of dry spells in between.
September and October tend to be the wettest months. Central regions see the heaviest rains and typhoons, while the north starts to dry out. By late October, conditions are already improving.
