Set in a beautiful valley amongst the Himalayas on the edge of the Chu River, Le Meridien is one of the largest hotels in Bhutan. Just a short drive from Paro Airport, it’s in a well-placed location to explore the main attractions in the area, in between relaxing at the hotel and enjoying the spectacular views of the Paro Valley.
Due to its size, you’ll find a range of fantastic facilities including a large indoor swimming pool, gym and spa. There are three restaurants and bars, all stylish and modern, offering Bhutanese, Asian and western cuisine. The outdoor dining area is a particularly lovely spot to enjoy your meals or a drink as you take in the incredible scenery around you.
All 59 modern rooms face the river, so you’re guaranteed lovely views out of your window. There is an array of room categories, some with bigger living areas and bathrooms, though all have comfortable king or twin beds and sofas.
Le Meridien tends to be preferred by tour groups as most hotels in Bhutan are too small to accommodate them. However, it is still a great option if you’re seeking a range of dining options and quality facilities in close proximity to Paro’s attractions and airport.
Deluxe - This is our first really 'upmarket' category. It might be a beautiful tiny hotel with very limited facilities or a 5* resort hotel with all the trimmings; but any hotel in this category will be a well-run establishment with very comfortable rooms, a strong service ethos and excellent food.
