Borneo is quite an unusual island since its territory comprises of three different countries. Parts of it are in Malaysia, parts in Indonesia and a small part in the tiny but oil-rich Sultanate of Brunei.
If you are considering a holiday in Borneo, in this section we concentrate on holidays within the Malaysian states of Sabah and Sarawak. These classic holidays focus on the main highlights, such as the famous orangutans, the magnificent Mulu Caves, spectacular Mount Kinabalu and the jungle in the Danum Valley. We’d generally suggest finishing or starting on a beach too – there are some lovely laid-back and rustic resorts making for some fantastic Borneo beach holidays.
These itineraries are just suggestions. All of our distinctive holidays are completely tailor-made. We’ve never designed exactly the same holiday twice and we don’t intend to start with you!
