Three Sides of Thailand

Experience the insider's perspective on some must-see sights with personalised, privately guided tours in and around Bangkok and Kanchanaburi. These tours will take you beyond the typical package holiday, offering a unique perspective on Thailand's rich culture and history.

No trip to Thailand is complete without a visit to one of its extraordinary beaches and 5 days are included at a lovely tranquil spot on the island of Koh Lanta. During this holiday, you’ll stay at some of our favourite hotel accommodations, each a one-of-a-kind gem that works particularly well in its surroundings.

Highlights include:

  • Satisfy your taste buds and experience Thailand's street food scene, you'll get to try mouth-watering dishes like kanom jin (rice noodles with curry soup) and kanom krok (Thai coconut pudding), and more.
  • Embark on a cycling adventure through Bangkok's surprisingly green and tranquil Bang Krachao peninsula. Pedal past canals, mangroves, and through local communities.
  • Relax in a floating lodge in Kanchanaburi and enjoy the views of the river while you immerse yourself in nature and take part in a “hands off” elephant experience.
  • Retreat to a lovely, quiet beach in Koh Lanta. Spend your days taking refreshing dips in the pool or ocean and indulging in fresh seafood while enjoying the views of the Andaman Sea.

This is a sample itinerary which we will tailor to suit you. Prices are dependent on destination, flights & dates but ETG holidays always include the following:

Day 1 Depart The UK

Depart the UK on your overnight flight to Bangkok

Day 2 - 4 Bangkok

On arrival in Bangkok, you will be met by your guide and transferred to your hotel to unwind before heading out in the afternoon. Venture out on a walking tour as you get to know the city, stopping to sample street snacks and visit local markets before enjoying dinner.

A full-day interactive journey will then reveal the cities rich diversity. You’ll loosely follow the course of the Chao Phraya River, veering off to explore its famous canals and some communities that are much less visited by tourists. Sample the city's amazing street-food, have a go at Thai cookery in the flower markets and then watch the sun go down overlooking the temples.

You'll also have the chance to join a cycling adventure through the inner-city oasis of Bang Kra Jao. Pedal through a paradise of lush tropical vegetation and enjoy a slower, more traditional pace of life.

Day 5 & 6 Kanchanaburi

Start your day early by heading to a lively railway market where vendors display their goods on the train tracks before the slow-moving train passes by. Later, travel onwards to Kanchanaburi town where you can spend some time taking in the must-see sights of the area, like the famous Bridge Over the River Kwai. From there, continue to your floating accommodation where you can choose to relax for the rest of the day and enjoy the unique landscape or head out on a kayaking trip along the river.

On the second day, you'll experience an unforgettable journey into the world of elephants with a full-day, hands-off educational program. Observe rescued elephants living in peace in their natural habitat, learn about their habits, behaviour, and history, and discover the importance of proper nutrition while preparing their meals. Additionally, you'll learn about the Mahouts and their culture and support fair wages and protection for their rights. You'll also have the opportunity to visit the interactive Elephant Museum. Finally, witness the magical sight of elephants bathing in the River Kwai Noi.

Day 7 Kanchanaburi to Koh Lanta

Your driver will meet you in the hotel lobby for your transfer to Bangkok Airport for your flight onwards to Krabi. Upon arrival in Krabi, your new driver will be waiting for you to begin the transfer over to Koh Lanta. Arrive and check into your beachside hotel.

Day 8 - 11 Koh Lanta

Spend the rest of your holiday enjoying the hotel and the island.  With its long sandy beaches and lush green forests, Koh Lanta is ideal for those seeking relaxation and tranquillity. The island is less developed than some of the more popular tourist destinations in Thailand, which adds to its charm and authenticity. There's a laid-back vibe, and visitors can spend their days lounging on the beach, exploring the island's natural beauty, or sampling delicious Thai cuisine. If you simply want to unwind in a peaceful setting, Koh Lanta is the perfect destination.

Day 12 Fly Home

You’ll be transferred back to Krabi Airport for your flight home to the UK
