Jetwing Kaduruketha

Set among paddy fields and freshwater streams on the edge of Sri Lanka’s Uva Province, Jetwing Kaduruketha strikes just the right balance between a traditional luxury hotel and a rustic Sri Lankan home.
This agro-eco luxury resort has dwellings scattered across working farmland and connected by open paths rather than formal spaces.
There’s a quiet rhythm to life here, shaped by the landscape and the seasons, where days unfold slowly and the focus is firmly on the natural surroundings.
This suits travellers looking to step away from Sri Lanka’s more visited highlights and spend time somewhere that feels grounded and local. It works well as a pause between the hill country and the south or east coast, offering a different perspective on the island.
Whether you’re birdwatching nearby, cycling through the greenery or simply sitting out on your veranda, the experience here is about slowing down and settling into rural life.
You can also head further afield to waterfalls, archaeological sites or the nearby town of Ella, ideal for those wanting some alternative hiking routes. Back at base, chill by the pool or make use of the spa before settling in for the evening and dining al fresco.
The Rooms
There are 25 dwellings, designed to reflect a traditional Sri Lankan village and spaced out across the paddy fields.
Each is generous in size, with a simple, rustic feel that prioritises comfort over excess. Interiors feature natural materials, wooden furnishings and soft, neutral tones that sit easily within the landscape.
Bathrooms are spacious, and some are even outdoors. Each dwelling also has a private deck or veranda, positioned to look out over the surrounding scenery, making it easy place to wind down between excursions.
