Day 1

Your adventure begins

Depart your home country for your flight to Sri Lanka.

Days 2 - 4

Water Garden Sigiriya

Arrive into Colombo and board a seaplane for the thirty-minute flight to the Cultural Triangle. Over three days, your guide will take you through the ancient cities, with time built in to spend in the countryside villages nearby, meeting the families who farm and live there.

You’ll stay at Water Garden Sigiriya, one of the few hotels with a direct view of the rock itself; a good place to watch the sun go down with a G&T in hand.

ETG - TP - Seaplane Sri Lanka Tea country (5)
Days 5 - 7

Tea Trails

Head south to Kandy, then take the scenic train to Hatton, climbing slowly through tea-clad hills. You’ll stay in a bungalow at Tea Trails, set among the plantations with sweeping views and attentive, personal service.

Spend your days walking through the tea bushes, visiting a working factory, or simply staying put. Your meals here include some of the best rice and curry in Sri Lanka and afternoon tea freshly brewed with leaves picked that morning.

Days 8 - 9

Ahas Pokuna

Your chauffeur-guide will bring you to Belihuloya, a rarely visited corner of the Sri Lankan wilderness, for two nights in a tented camp. Bushwalks through the surrounding forest range from short to full-day, alongside yoga or a cooking class, or spend time by the lake in this remote setting.

AHASPOKUNA camp
Days 10 - 11

Nine Skies

Travel further east into the hills to Nine Skies, a refurbished five-bedroom tea bungalow with far-reaching views. You’ll stay three nights, with spoiling service throughout.

Route 16 of the Pekoe Trail runs close by and captures Ella well: a 9km walk from the town’s energy out past the Nine Arch Bridge, the inspiration for your accommodation’s name. Then veer off the beaten track through villages and vegetable farms into quiet tea gardens, ending at Demodara.

Sri Lanka train journey
Days 12 - 14

Galle

For the last hurarh of your holiday, you’ll travel south for a three-night stay in a gorgeous boutique hotel in the greenery above Galle.

Spend a day cruising down the Kapu Ela River through canals and past small communities before taking a tuk-tuk ride around this remote area, getting a feel for how the locals live.

Day 15

Fly home

Bid farewell to Sri Lanka as you catch your flight home.

We have just returned from a two-week trip to Sri Lanka

What’s included:

With ETG, what’s included is shaped around ease. We take care of the practical details that can distract from the experience itself, so you’re free to relax into the journey and enjoy it as it unfolds.

Here’s what comes as standard in all of our holidays:

All flights (unless you’ve booked your own)
Carefully selected guides and drivers
All accommodation
Many meals and snacks
Immersive experiences throughout
All regional transport
Gratuities
24/7 In-Country support
Personal travel consultant throughout

Pricing:

Each journey is shaped around you, so costs vary depending on season, flight choices, accommodation and how much is built in.

As a guide, most of our two-week trips fall between £5,000 and £10,000 per person.

Some fall below that, particularly for families or travel outside peak periods. Others go beyond it when the brief includes business-class flights, longer stays, or more ambitious hotel choices.

We discuss budget early, so everything is clear from the start.

Meet Our Sri Lanka Experts

Lynsey’s love for Sri Lanka began during her travels across the island, where she was captivated by its warm people, diverse landscapes, and mouthwatering food. Her expertise lies in creating itineraries that balance relaxation and adventure, with a special focus on ethical travel and supporting local communities.

“A real standout is Ahas Pokuna, a secluded luxury bush camp unlike anywhere else in the country. Set beside a remote protected forest, it offers a true back-to-nature experience—but with proper beds, gourmet dining, and private plunge pools overlooking the wilderness.”

Important FAQs about Sri Lanka

At Experience Travel Group, we’ve been curating immersive Sri Lanka holidays since 2006 long before the island became a mainstream destination. Our deep-rooted local knowledge, trusted partnerships, and passion for meaningful travel make us the ideal choice for discovering Sri Lanka beyond the ordinary.

Over nearly two decades, we’ve developed unique experiences that blend cultural depth, comfort, and flexibility. Whether it’s staying in boutique hotels hidden in tea country, meeting local artisans, or exploring UNESCO heritage sites with expert guides, we design every journey to reveal the real heart of Sri Lanka, not just the tourist highlights.

With our thoughtful planning and in-country support, you’ll have peace of mind while enjoying a tailored adventure that suits your interests and travel style. We don’t do off-the-shelf holidays — we create personalised journeys that capture what’s truly special about Sri Lanka.

Let us show you the Sri Lanka we know and love.

Sri Lanka is a year-round destination, but the best time depends on where you’re going. One of the best times to visit is between December and March. The summer month and September is also a great all-round option, with good weather and fewer crowds.

Every ETG holiday to Sri Lanka is carefully designed to be seamless, immersive, and stress-free. Your journey typically includes international flights (if requested), chauffeur guide throughout and accommodation in hand-picked, characterful hotels.

You’ll enjoy incredible, immersive experiences unique to you, all planned by dedicated Sri Lanka specialists, with the added reassurance of 24/7 in-country support from our local team.
