Depart your home country for your flight to Sri Lanka.
This is the south of Sri Lanka at a slow pace: four stops, each given proper time rather than a quick pass through.
Time to ease into island life at Malabar Hill with nowhere to be. A restored planter’s bungalow in the hills at Haputale, looking out over 4,000 hectares of tea and the trail up to Lipton’s Seat. Two nights at Yala on the look out for leopard and elephant, then back to your palm-thatched retreat to cool off in your plunge pool.
Amanwella in Tangalle to feel the smooth sand underfoot: days for swimming, the spa, or reading under a palm tree. Conclude your holiday in Colombo, walking the city’s historic streets with an engaging guide.
Slow Paced Luxury
As with all our holidays, this itinerary is just a starting point. We will create a bespoke package which will be completely unique for you.
Day 1
Your adventure begins
Days 2 - 4
Galle Coast
Your private chauffeur-guide will welcome you on arrival and take you along the coast to Malabar Hill, near Weligama. The setting feels quiet and unhurried, with the view and the kitchen doing most of the work; days here are for a guided walk through the grounds, a cookery class, or simply drifting down to the nearby beaches.
You can also visit Galle Fort, its ramparts and streets an easy outing.
Days 5 - 7
Haputale
Your chauffeur-guide will take you into the Hill Country, where the tea terraces and cooler air are a real contrast to the coast. You’ll stay in a suite at a lovingly restored planter’s bungalow, chosen for its views, its pool, and, just as much, for the walking straight from the door. Days here unfold naturally: exploring the surroundings on foot, then back to the cottage as the light changes.
Days 8 - 9
Yala National Park
Continue on to Yala for a two-night stay, where jeep safaris with a local naturalist take you into the park’s less-explored corners in search of leopard, elephant, buffalo and bright birds.
Relax back at your wildlife lodge in your private plunge pool. Or you can go kayaking, set off off on short walks, even join a Sri Lankan cookery lesson, before evenings gather round a proper campfire under the stars.
Days 10 - 13
Tangalle
Next, it’s on to Tangalle on the coast to check into your refined retreat for four nights. Amangalla is where you exhale: sea, sand, the spa if you want it, or an afternoon that asks nothing more of you than finding a sun lounger under the shade of a palm tree.
Day 14
Colombo
Travel to Colombo this morning. In the afternoon, a walking tour with a great guide who knows the city well introduces you to its cultural heart, tracing the influences and traditions that have shaped the capital over the intervening centuries.
Day 15
Fly home
Bid farewell to Sri Lanka as you catch your flight, taking home memories of an unforgettable adventure.

What’s included:
With ETG, what’s included is shaped around ease. We take care of the practical details that can distract from the experience itself, so you’re free to relax into the journey and enjoy it as it unfolds.
Here’s what comes as standard in all of our holidays:
Pricing:
Each journey is shaped around you, so costs vary depending on season, flight choices, accommodation and how much is built in.
As a guide, most of our two-week trips fall between £5,000 and £10,000 per person.
Some fall below that, particularly for families or travel outside peak periods. Others go beyond it when the brief includes business-class flights, longer stays, or more ambitious hotel choices.
We discuss budget early, so everything is clear from the start.
