Getaways don’t get much dreamier or more adventurous than time aboard Aliikai. Sleeping up to 15 people, the voyage aboard a modern Phinisi yacht takes you to Raja Ampat or Komodo National Park.
Whilst exploring the underwater world is a key highlight of the trip, the voyages are not just for divers or snorkellers. A journey with Aliikai is a high-end experience and a great way to get a sense of Indonesia’s incredible landscapes, accessing remote islands with abundant nature and birdlife. The team on board will make your stay feel luxurious and special with top-quality food, carefully curated land visits and special touches throughout. The captain knows the best spots to anchor to see the mind-blowing marine life in the area; great for diving or snorkelling, but you have the option to just grab a paddleboard to float around or take a tender ashore to bliss out on secret sandy shores with sublime views.
Refurbed in 2020, the 41-meter-long boat has seven bright and airy cabins spread over three decks and several spaces for dining, relaxing, and enjoying the cinematic views of clear blue oceans and volcanic tropical islands around you. With so many spaces to retreat, the boat never feels crowded, and there is space to break away from other guests when you want to.
Each cabin has an ensuite bathroom and air conditioning, and the two master suites at the stern have private outdoor terraces. When not enjoying beach picnics on picturesque islands, the chef’s meals are served from the indoor main deck with panoramic windows or the outdoor lounge for al fresco dining under the stars. The upper deck doubles as a serene spot for morning yoga and an open-air cinema at night.
Typically, Aliikai explores Raja Ampat between November and April and then heads to Komodo from May to September. Trips range from 7 to 11 nights in Raja Ampat and 4 to 6 nights around Komodo National Park.
Sailing on the Aliikai around the most spectacular and untouched corners of the world is the kind of trip that will stay with you forever. You’ll experience a blend of cultural exploration and sea-faring adventure, and naturally, you’ll have lots of fun beneath the waves. You won’t want to forget your camera (there’s even a dedicated camera room on the boat to tinker with your gear and help you take underwater photos). It makes for an epic honeymoon or family getaway where you want to switch off to reconnect.
Deluxe - This is our first really 'upmarket' category. It might be a beautiful tiny hotel with very limited facilities or a 5* resort hotel with all the trimmings; but any hotel in this category will be a well-run establishment with very comfortable rooms, a strong service ethos and excellent food.
