The Legian is one of the few traditionally styled luxury hotels not just in Seminyak but in South Bali as a whole. Offering a contrast to the abundant ultra-modern pool villas in the area, it provides a fusion of traditional Balinese style with modern luxury, comfort and superb service - within a lush tropical garden and beach-side location.
The 67 rooms are split into seven categories, all of which are large suites with separate living and sleeping areas and well equipped, big bathrooms. Of these, we generally recommend one of the two lead-in categories, although the family and top-end honeymoon suites are fantastic. The 15 good sized Studio rooms provide an affordable option and come with the same style, facilities and amenities as the rest of the hotel. The 34 one bed deluxe rooms are larger, both in terms of living and sleeping space, which allows the separate areas to be more individually distinct.
The service in the hotel is excellent and, despite its relatively large size, maintains a personal touch. The cuisine is excellent throughout the hotel. The peaceful gardens, good pool, relaxing communal area and well-maintained beach provide an oasis within the bustling heart of trendy Seminyak, yet within minutes you have a great selection of fantastic places to go for a meal or a drink.
Only 30 minutes from the airport, the Legian is an excellent option for a relaxing first or last night in Bali, or it is perfect for those looking for a beach holiday that is quiet and relaxing during the day but with plenty of options for the evening to keep you occupied. It is not as modern or chic as some, but the traditional element is in itself the charm and appeal of this fantastic hotel.
Luxury - Luxury hotels would have a superb level of service, very comfortable and usually spacious bedrooms, excellent food, great design and character. For us, when we visited, these places all had the 'wow factor'. A luxury hotel should satisfy the criteria of the most discerning clients.
