Luxury Vietnam Holiday Ideas

A luxury ETG holiday to Vietnam means so much more than beautiful stays (though you’ll have plenty of those). It’s about feeling the rhythm of the country: the back-alley food stalls, the hushed garden houses, the serene riverscapes, all guided by people who know Vietnam inside out.

We’ll steer you away from the crowds of the classic “5 H’s” and into the heart of this vibrant land. Whether cruising the Mekong in a floating villa or sipping cocktails in a heritage hideaway, you’ll see Vietnam from a privileged, more personal perspective.

As award-winning specialists, our travel team will ensure you experience the very best of this mesmerising country. You’ll have a trip that’s relaxing, luxurious, and utterly unforgettable. What more could you want?

The Best Times to Go on a Holiday in Vietnam

Working out the best time to visit Vietnam can be a little tricky. It’s a long, slim country with dramatically varied weather from top to bottom. But the good news? There’s almost always somewhere with great conditions.

November to April is the most consistently dry and settled season across the country. It’s ideal for cultural travel, sunshine, and beach time in the south. In the north, expect clear skies and cooler air, especially in the mountains.

May to August brings hot, sunny weather to the central coast, making places like Hoi An and Nha Trang perfect for a summer beach break. Further north and south, rains are more common but often come in short, sharp bursts, with plenty of dry spells in between.

September and October tend to be the wettest months. Central regions see the heaviest rains and typhoons, while the north starts to dry out. By late October, conditions are already improving.

The Finest Luxury Hotels in Vietnam

Vietnam’s luxury hotel scene is one of the most impressive in Asia.

Yes, you’ll find colonial city crash pads and swish high-end hotels – along the likes of Sofitel Legend Metropole Hanoi and Amanoi. They’re certainly plush and polished.

But at ETG, we go beyond the obvious.

We’re always on the lookout for hotels with character, charm, and a genuine sense of place – places that bring Vietnam’s unique culture and natural beauty to life.

An Epic Adventure Across Southeast Asia

There were moments while I was out and about where I thought that everyone should experience this kind of mindful travel that Experience Travel organises, as it's not backpacking where you tick off the standard party hotspots, and it's not the typical cruise for tourists to visit the standard sightseeing destinations, but an experience where I really felt I got to know the countries, meet great people and do fun stuff that most people miss.

With ETG, we have visited extraordinary places

... stayed in wondrous hotels, met fascinating everyday people, listened to varied opinions, and learned much about places far away. I couldn't do that on my own.
