Buri Rasa Koh Phangan is a small boutique resort tucked away on a quiet beach on the northeast coast of Koh Phangan Island. Relatively remote but easily accessed by boat from Koh Samui, this resort is a great place to retreat and relax.
The rooms and suites are decorated in a simple contemporary style with subtle traditional touches and all have the usual mod cons like flat-screen TV and DVD player. For direct access to the beach we recommend the Ocean Front Deluxe rooms, which give you a view of the ocean and the white sandy beach; you can feel the sand between your toes without even leaving your terrace.
Thai and western food is readily available at the long-established beach restaurant and the Village Square is home to a small selection of Thai shops and the odd bar. As is to be expected in Thailand the resort has a great spa not to mention complimentary Wi-Fi throughout the premises.
Buri Rasa Koh Phangan operates a speedboat from a pier on Koh Samui (not far from the airport) to the resort, taking roughly 40 minutes. Koh Phangan is famous for its monthly full moon party at Haad Rin beach but away from Haad Rin the island is actually one of Thailand’s most beautiful with some fantastic snorkelling offshore and an extremely relaxed and laid back beach vibe.
We recommend Buri Rasa Koh Phangan for couples or families who want a quiet island retreat without too much hassle and without breaking the bank. It can fit in well at the end of a busy tour and can also be combined with a stay on Koh Samui.
