Thailand, East Coast and Islands
Info : Soneva Kiri
Located on a a privately owned cove on the sleepy Thai island of Koh Kood, the resort offers the finest luxury experiences for travellers that demand the best and the unique simultaneously.
Needless to say, Soneva Kiri is a very special place to stay. A highly bold and ambitious project, the resort can't really be directly compared to anywhere else, such is the vision behind it.
Access to the resort is by the resort's private plane from Bangkok, a flight of one hour. The plane lands on a nearby island and you are then transferred the remaining part by private speed boat.
Soneva Kiri consists of 42 'Eco Villas', 'Villa Suites' and 1 and 2 Bedroom 'Villas', spread throughout over 150 acres of spectacular jungle headland. Six Senses describes the architecture and overall philosophy as "environmental responsiveness and intelligent luxury". Comfort levels are truly on a par with anything we have seen anywhere in the region.
Dinign options are varied and enticing with a number of bars, restaurants and eateries dotted throughout the property including a dedicated chocolate kitchen and the spectacular 'Dining Pod' - a woven rattan nest that is raised into the tree canopy by a wire providing on of the most unique dining spots in the world. Food courses arrive courtesy of a flying waiter harnessed to a zip line as does beverage replenishment.
Soneva Kiri has two stunning private beaches to enjoy and a number of watersports and excursions are offered.
Soneva Kiri is one of the most exclusive and unique hideaways in Asia and the lucky few who get to stay there may wish to keep it a secret for as long as possible.
Ultimate - There are very few hotels we would describe as 'ultimate'. Hotels in this category must have absolutely everything anyone could want and really be aiming for the stars. These hotels generally go well above and beyond and they would always be at the very top end of the market. These are for clients looking for that extra special place.
We are normally very independant travellers, but for various reasons decided in this instance to use Experience Travel Group, and what a good idea that turned out to be!
