This evening tour begins with a ‘cyclo’ to the theatre where the ancient Vietnamese art form of water puppetry is enacted. The unique tradition dates back to the 11th century originating in the villages of the north and is still celebrated as an art today.
The ‘stage’ is a pool of water in which the hidden puppeteer must stand (waist deep!) to skilfully manoeuvre dancing puppets attached to bamboo poles on its surface.
Each short skit in the performance relates to the daily life of the people and is accompanied by music from a traditional Vietnamese Orchestra.
After the performance we can arrange a transfer to a local restaurant for dinner or if you would prefer to relax or explore you can make your own arrangements for the rest of the evening.
You can include this experience as part of an Experience Travel Group holiday designed exclusively with you.

Water puppets show was very good and entertaining, but as it was not in English one hour was enough!
