Nestled among picturesque rice terraces in the mountainous
Northwest of Vietnam, the offers a peaceful retreat, ideal
for some proper R&R.
Somewhat of a hidden gem, the resort sits in the Pu
Nhu Village, deep into the hills around 300km from Hanoi. It's around a
5-6 hour drive from Hanoi but includes a pitstop at lovely hot springs.
The journey is made easier by Garrya's luxury vehicles, equipped with
WiFi and massage seats (no less!). On your arrival, you'll be wowed by the incredible 360-degree
views of the surrounding mountains and pristine rice terraces carved out by the
H'Mong people who live in the region.
The Garrya is designed to make the most of the area's fascinating culture as well as the nature on its doorstep. Bamboo is used throughout the property, and the rooms are decorated with traditional H'Mong textile art: mixing minimalist modernism with a rustic feel. The various rooms range from the standard deluxe up to two-bedroom suites with private pools, but each features a spacious balcony to take in the views.
The remote location of the Garrya is part of its appeal, but
this also means there are limited excursions available that don't involve a
motorbike ride on rugged roads. A few attractions are accessible by car
though, and the local weekend markets are a real highlight. However, the aim of the
hotel is to create a serene sanctuary to relax in, with an emphasis on peace, quiet, and wellness. Go to the onsite 8lements spa
to pick between an array of treatments and natural products to cleanse and detox,
and swim in the indoor and outdoor pools. There's also a well-equipped gym, and a 'social
zone', and two excellent restaurants.
Well worth the journey
for anyone who wants a break from adventuring and to unwind and recharge in
fresh mountain air with some spectacular views.
Superior - This is what we would describe as our standard category. These will be decent 3/4* hotels providing a really good level of service. We would generally expect them to be providing a little something extra, in terms of character, guest experience or facilities too.
