The Mia Resort Mui Ne (formerly known as The Sailing Club) is one of our favourite beach properties in Vietnam. Stylish, relaxed and great value; it offers a great range of facilities for a fraction of the price that some resorts charge.
Comprised of approximately 50 thatched bungalows and rooms, The Sailing Club offers a range of accommodation. Rooms are divided into four categories; Deluxe Garden, Deluxe Beachside, Superior and Sapa House. All rooms feature beautifully designed furnishings & decoration, and en-suite bathrooms, while some rooms also have outdoor bathrooms. All bungalows have their private terrace while the Sapa rooms have balconies overlooking the gardens.
The Lotus Day Spa offers a great selection of treatments at unusually reasonable prices in beautiful garden surroundings. Treatments may be enjoyed alfresco in the open-air hut or the spa room, scented with pure essential oils. The small free-form swimming pool is at the heart of the resort. Overlooking the sandy beach and flanked by the restaurant and bar, it is as appealing by night as it is by day. Sun loungers surround the pool and offer welcome shade in this, one of the warmest parts of Vietnam.
The resort has two laid back dining options. The Sandals restaurant offers a range of local and fusion cuisine with a particular emphasis on seafood. The Sailing Club Beachfront Bar is situated on a raised terrace overlooking the sea and offers a great selection of drinks in a lounge-style environment.
Mui Ne and the Phan Thiet region are surrounded by dunes which make for great Sandboarding excursions. The resort can also book Kiteboarding trips through a reliable third party partner.
The resort enjoys wide beach access to the great sandy bay of Mui Ne. Sea swimming is good, and the beach in front of the resort has shady seating areas and sun loungers. Traditional 'basket boats' can be seen in the waters of Mui Ne and the sight of the local fishing communities hauling in their catches on neighbouring beaches as the sun sets is particularly romantic and photogenic.
Superior - This is what we would describe as our standard category. These will be decent 3/4* hotels providing a really good level of service. We would generally expect them to be providing a little something extra, in terms of character, guest experience or facilities too.
