Waking up in the heart of a National Park makes for an unforgettable experience. Glimpses of the sun peek out from the surface of the lake, the birds begin to chatter over the scrubland and deer frolic a short distance away.
Sri Lanka’s original luxury wildlife outfit, Kulu’s responsible, immersive safaris offer an unforgettable rumble in the jungle: the remote camp comprises just four authentic safari tents hidden away deep in the heart of Yala.
What makes Kulu Safaris stand out is that they understand the best way to appreciate Yala National Park is to get right into the heart of it and stay there. Surrounded by incredible flora and fauna of all shapes and sizes, you can see for yourself how unique the landscape is amongst all of the colourful and varied birdlife.
Kulu Safaris is ideal for wildlife enthusiasts, photographers, and nature lovers seeking an authentic safari experience at Yala National Park.
Yala is no lazy stroll through the park. Instead, it is wild, rough, uninhabited, and very exciting. Keep calm and be patient: you will be rewarded on an unforgettable Kulu Safari. The safari vehicles are modified Land Cruisers, imported from South Africa and accompanying you throughout are some of the most knowledgable guides in the region. With a wealth of information, a friendly outlook, and sheer enthusiasm for the area, they are vastly more helpful than the average day trip guide.
Activities and excursions are well-paced, with plenty of time for navel-gazing, or at least, the quiet appreciation of your surroundings on the morning and evening safari drives. Leopard and elephant spotting opportunities are excellent, and even the enigmatic sloth bear makes an appearance now and then.
The Rooms
Your home for the stay takes the form of a luxurious safari tent, complete with teak platforming, a terrace and ensuite bathroom facilities. There are comfy camp beds and lots of space and even a wash basin in the tents. Guests can expect decent toilets and hot and cold showers. Gorgeous sunsets complement your evening meals, prepared in the mobile kitchen.
Entrance fees, meals, drinks, and equipment are all included, making this two-day safari excellent value for money.
