Aditya took the original boutique hotel concept on the island to a whole new level and has maintained it for years, whilst retaining a friendly and personal feel.
It is located on Sri Lanka’s southwest coast in a small fishing village called Ratgama, about 30 minutes drive from Galle.
Aditya is perfect for couples, honeymooners, and anyone seeking a private, indulgent beach escape.
It suits travellers looking for space, seclusion, and highly personalised service. It’s also well-suited for those who appreciate contemporary design with a Sri Lankan touch and want a luxurious base from which to explore the Galle coast. Aditya’s excellent restaurant has an extensive and varied menu, with a resident chef, who will prepare what you feel like when you want, and serve it wherever you chose. The bar also offers a comprehensive range of wines and spirits as well as a long list of exotic cocktails. Entering through the narrow gate and courtyard, the ultra-modern space begins to unfold a process that continues through the restaurant and lounge areas and culminates in your room. Polished concrete floors and stark white walls provide the backdrop for the elegant furnishings and fittings, while discreet colour palettes lend additional character to the airy, open design. Yet despite these qualities, the hotel retains a pleasantly intimate feel. Their private beach is often deserted offering yet another seductive space for guests to spend their time.
The Rooms
This lovely small hotel has five Garden Suites, six Sea View Suites and one Grand Suriya Suite, all of which are, quite simply, enormous. The design is minimal but elegant and distinct in design. Each suite is equipped with a private outdoor plunge pool/jacuzzi, and fantastic views looking out to the sea or surrounded by the privacy of wicker blinds. The hotel is furnished with excellent quality Balinese furniture, as well as striking artwork celebrating the diversity of the people of this island nation. The Grand Suriya suite is the largest of all the suites spanning two floors, both of which have sea views, as does the bed which sits grandly on the suite’s mezzanine level.
