Taru Villas Maia
Couples
Situated in Habarana in the heart of the Cultural Triangle, Taru Maia provides guests with an intimate experience and a comfy, convenient location for exploring the area’s Unesco sites and natural beauty.
The historical sites of Sigiriya and Pidurangala are within a 30-minute drive of the hotel, and Anuradhapura is about an hour away. However, unlike other resorts in the area, Taru Maia is not located at the end of a bumpy dirt road but close to the main street, making it easier to explore the sites and wander out to a local restaurant for dinner.
Taru Villas Maia’s central location and personalised service make it a perfect base for exploring the Cultural Triangle while enjoying modern comforts in a natural setting. Within the grounds are a charming open-air restaurant serving Western and local food, a pool overlooking rice paddies, and a yoga hut at the back of the gardens.
The Rooms
The resort feels private and peaceful, with only ten rooms and 9 acres of land. The eight Superior rooms near the front of the property are spacious and modern with some Sri Lankan twists and have large balconies or private terraces, depending on whether it is on the ground or the first floor. The two Chalet rooms are identical in style but are set further back and in separate buildings, so they are a little more private. Also within the grounds are a charming open-air restaurant serving Western and local food, a pool overlooking rice paddies, and a yoga hut at the back of the gardens.
