The Warden's House
Incredible safari experience
Couples
Hidden in the countryside of southern Sri Lanka, The Warden’s House is a safari lodge just a 15-minute drive from the Block 5 entrance to Yala National Park. With four suites and seven acres of land, the lodge offers a peaceful and private stay surrounded by wildlife and nature.
Although the proximity to lesser-visited Block 5 is the obvious reason to stay at Warden’s House, there are plenty of reasons to take a day off from safari, explore the local sites, or relax at the lodge. The Menik River borders the property’s estate and is home to a wide variety of birdlife, much of which can be spotted from the onsite swimming pool. Day trips can be organised to the nearby Kataragama and Kiriwehera temples, or to a nearby village via a countryside walk through paddy fields and crop plantations.
The Rooms
Each of the lodge’s four suites is named after one of Sri Lanka’s national parks and features decor from the corresponding region. Apart from these unique touches, all the suites are spacious and comfortable, with a distinctly old-world feel. Modern fixtures and fittings complement the four-poster beds and antique furniture, making the rooms homely and relaxing.
