This sprawling hotel is in Negombo, just a half an hour’s drive from Bandaranaike International Airport. It’s got plenty going for it: the largest pool in Sri Lanka, a clever, characteristic design by architect Geoffrey Bawa, and a fabulous location on a lagoon with a lovely private stretch of beach.
Bawa’s architectural style is quintessential, and the design of the hotel is such that you always feel like you have plenty of space. Jetwing Lagoon is quite well-known for its Ayurvedic Spa menu and wellness treatments. Negombo is about 15 minutes away by car, but there isn’t a lot to do there for tourists. Instead, indulge in water sports on the lagoon or beach, treat yourself to a spa treatment, deliberate over which pool to swim in this time around, or just relax on the sprawling green grounds after a long journey.
